Comfort through a knife...

Cooking has such a rhythm to it...slice, dice, chop...slice, dice, chop. I feel like they could make a musical out of it kind of like "Stomp." The knife hitting the cutting board, squishing through a tomato, a sharp sound of a crisp onion, the ridge air pocket's resonance when cutting up celery. In the background the water is boiling and popping while ingredients dance about the hot steam. Scooping a melody off the counter to add to the production...

It is such a stress relief to cook sometimes and I feel preparing a meal or any item can give you such comfort! I love getting lost in cutting vegetables. Some people may say I'm indecisive, I say I like variety. Sometimes I get in a predicament because I can't decide how I want to cut something up. If i choose to not decide, it is usually because I have already decided I will cut it every way possible-chunks, slivers, cubes, vertical, horizontal, cross section, squares, circles, or whatever the day may bring. It is my recipe after all. So if you don't like it-Eat it. ;-)
